Record of temperature for May was 2009, when arrived 50.2ºC;
You United Arab Emirates On Friday (23) recorded the highest temperature already documented in May since the beginning of data compilation, 51.6ºC, the National Center for Meteorology (NCM) said. “The highest temperature recorded in the country today is 51.6ºC in Sweehan,” a town in the Al Ain region, said NCM on social network X. The thermometer reached the level “at 1:45 pm, local time.” This is a record temperature since the beginning of the records, surpassing the previous record, which had been documented a day earlier in Abu Dhabi, where on Thursday the thermometer reached 50.4ºC. Before this week, the temperature record for May was 2009, when it arrived 50.2ºC. The Emirates are one of the world’s leading oil exporters, but they have invested considerably in renewable energy.
