On Saturday, June 28, parishioners of the Ukrainian Greek -Catholic Church made their official pilgrimage to the Basilica of St. Peter in the Vatican. Pope Lev XIV welcomed Ukrainian pilgrims who came to the pilgrimage on the occasion of the Holy Year, and turned to them with a speech.

Dad warmly congratulated his bliss of Svyatoslav Shevchuk, the Supreme Archbishop of Kyiv-Khalian, bishops, priests, gods and all faithful laity who came to the grave of the apostle Peter.
“My dear, this is a treasure that should be divided. The faith of your people is now a difficult test. Many of you, since the war began, probably asked yourself: Lord, why all this? Where are you? What should we do to save our families, our homes and our house. He will say the last word and life will win death, ”said Pause Leo XIV.
He called on the faith of “everyone whom the Lord will meet you” because it can “discover new horizons of hope and peace, especially for everyone who is in grief.”
“I want to express my proximity to the suffering of Ukraine, children, young people and especially families who cry their loved ones. I share your pain for the captives and victims of this meaningless war. I trust your intentions to the Lord, your daily difficulties and tragedies, as well as, first of all. ”
In the Vatican, they said that before leaving the basilica, Pope Leo XIV welcomed the delegation of mothers of the fallen soldiers.
The Ukrainian leader of Volodymyr Zelensky thanked the Pontiff “for constant prayers and sympathy for Ukraine and our people.” “Together we must stop this arbitrary Russian aggression,” because people “need a fair world,” he said.

As reported, OBOZ.UAPope Lev XIV repeatedly urged the world to stop the war in Ukraine and the Gaza sector.
