Nine electric buses in operation in Trentino since 2024

Nine electric buses will go into operation from the first half of 2024 and will travel the section that goes from the center of Trento to Zambana, passing through Lavis. The value of the first supply, of nine buses, is 7.5 million euros, while that of the second, of seven buses, is 4.7 million euros, financed by the Pnrr. The plan was presented at the Trentino Trasporti spa headquarters in Trento.

“The buses are battery powered. Six are 12 meters long and three are 18 meters long”, explained the president of Trentino Trasporti, Diego Salvatore, adding that the project “is the result of a partnership between Evobus Italia spa and Enel x Italia srl , and that not only concerns the supply of buses, but also the entire charging infrastructure”.

For these nine buses, explained Salvatore, we are talking about “a coverage of about 800 kilometers a year, with a saving of about 400 tons of carbon dioxide emitted”.

The recharging infrastructure will be located at the Lavis terminus and the buses will be able to use it at the end of each section.

“In a second phase, another seven buses will be made available, which will cover line 7 and line 15,” added Salvatore.
