The Head of State will play a football match this afternoon in Poissy, in Yvelines, for the benefit of the Fondation des Hôpitaux de Paris-Hôpitaux de France. But before putting on sportswear, Emmanuel Macron will announce new aid for sports equipment. An opportunity to occupy a land abandoned by the presidential candidates.
He decided to wet the shirt and take an interest in a field neglected by his political opponents: sport. The Head of State will play a football match during the day for the benefit of the Fondation des Hôpitaux de Paris-Hôpitaux de France chaired by his wife, Brigitte Macron. But before putting on his crampons, Emmanuel Macron will make three stops in several municipalities of Seine-Saint-Denis around the 2024 Olympic Games. An opportunity for him to present his plan for sport: 200 million euros to create five sports equipments.
Invest in sport
Tennis, football or boxing, Emmanuel Macron is a president passionate about sport and in love with the Olympique de Marseille. His entourage reminds everyone that this summer, in Brégançon, he returned to running and that today, he is in great shape to tackle the upcoming campaign. Because, for the Head of State, sport rhymes with competition. A philosophy that he wants to apply to France: to make the country a great sporting nation with the holding of the 2024 Olympic Games.
An ambition which is not devoid of interest for Emmanuel Macron, especially at the diplomatic level. Last week, he announced an investment of 4 million euros for sport in Africa. The President of the Republic wants to make sport accessible to all. Why ? Because he sees it as a growth development vector at the highest level. A way to write a certain national novel. Six months before the presidential election, no candidate has yet preempted this subject. Emmanuel Macron now intends to step into the breach.
