Nations League women: 3-1 to South Korea, Italy to the Finals

(ANSA) – ROME, JUL 01 – Italy beat South Korea in Sofia and got the pass for the Nations League 2022 women’s volleyball Finals, scheduled in Ankara from 13 to 17 July. Thanks to the 3-1 victory over the Asians (25-17; 23-25; 25-15; 25-19), the reigning European champions obtained the mathematical qualification for the final act with two rounds to spare .

Against a fierce South Korea, the Italy of the returning from the start Miriam Sylla (17 points) and a solid Nwakalor (21), won the victory that is worth the passage of the round. Tomorrow the penultimate match of the blue in the Bulgarian capital against the hosts, waiting to know the name of their opponent in the quarter-finals in Ankara.

“It’s a pity about the second set that spoiled a bit what we did in the match – declared the Italian coach, Davide Mazzanti -, we made some inaccuracies and lost quality in the games. Then recovering it was not easy considering also that some of the girls were in their debut or hadn’t played much. But I have to say that I liked the team and I’m delighted to have won another important victory for the standings and the ranking. ” (HANDLE).
