Two-time Olympic champion Vyacheslav Fetisov was wildly indignant at the conditions for the return of Russians to international tournaments. The owner of the Stanley Cup called the criteria of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) arbitrariness, which recommended that the federations remove all representatives of the aggressor country related to military structures or the FSB.
Fetisov angrily stated this in an interview with the propaganda news agency TASS. At the same time, the former hockey player added that the military “can travel and travel”, forgetting that the Russian security forces are under tough Western sanctions.
“It is clear that the arbitrariness continues. The military can travel and travel the world, but they cannot perform, well, what is it? In Germany, there are athletes belonging to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and sports there are under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of the Interior, and Thomas Bach knows this better than anyone “People have been deprived of their dream, this is a violation of both rights and all universal principles. They must respect the laws of the countries in which athletes train. All the principles on which I grew up have completely acquired some kind of boundless character, banditry,” said Fetisov.
Note that the IOC recommended that Russians be excluded from team tournaments, and that athletes from the Russian Federation should be allowed in individual sports only in a neutral status. However, they must meet certain criteria.
As GLOBAL HAPPENINGS reported, the German Foreign Ministry called the new decision of the IOC regarding the conditional admission of Russians to international competitions a slap in the face to the Ukrainian people.
