“It is important that most of this help, for a total of 645 million euros, is sold through Belgian companies. This is the production of our own industry. Thus, most of the funds return to our economy and supports work in our defense sector, ”said the government official of Belgium.

In particular, the package will be:

  • 100 armored ambulance and unimog vehicles and transport vehicles;
  • 5 unmanned sea vessels;
  • Air drones, as well as helmets for them,
  • portable systems for detecting drones, night vision glasses;
  • Medical equipment, protective clothing from chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats;

This is only a part of the total packaging.

In addition, the official noted that Belgium wants to build production capacities for the production of 70-mm missiles in Ukraine in cooperation with Ukrainian companies.

“Our army also helps to prepare and train Ukrainian troops, both in Belgium and in the context of Europe and NATO. Belgium will prepare Ukrainian F-16 pilots, prepare crews for future mines hunters and conduct training in the disposal of explosive objects. ”

As reported, OBOZ.UAThis package was the result of the 27th meeting of the Ramstein Ramstein contact group, which took place in Brussels on April 11, chaired in Germany and the UK.

Recall that the European Union in early May made an important decision for Ukraine on frozen Russian assets. 1 billion euros received from profit from these assets will be transferred to the Ukrainian defense industry.

The EU suggested that sanctions against Russia cannot continue this summer. Thus, Belgium is proposed to create an international coalition to prevent thawing about 200 billion euros of the sovereign funds of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation stored in Western financial institutions.
